What it is for
A blanket is the most physical gift there is: used every night on a couch or a bed, and the thing people reach for when they are unwell or sad.
Plush and sherpa surfaces soften fine detail slightly; bold images look best.
Dye sublimation
Sublimation prints the design onto transfer paper with dye ink; heat then turns the dye into a gas that bonds into a polyester coating or polyester fibre.
Colour becomes part of the surface rather than a layer on top, so it is vivid and does not crack or peel. It cannot print white: white in a design shows as the colour of the item itself, which is why sublimated items are white or pale.
There is no texture at all — on fabric you cannot feel the print, and on a mug it is under a smooth coating.
Designs that suit it
Large photographs, paintings and patterns all work at blanket size. The whole face is printed, so the edges of the design show.
The print area is on the front: 2,100 × 2,100 pixels, about 7.0 × 7.0 in at 300 dpi — a roughly square area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Full-colour photographs, paintings and edge-to-edge patterns. Less suited: designs that rely on white ink, and important detail right at seams, handles or edges where the transfer wraps.
Sentences that would suit it

“Blue and coral peonies, a pattern for her favourite mug”
Peony, Kate Faulkner, printed 1920. Public domain. Shown on our example indoor wall tapestry.

“Birds stealing strawberries, a pattern for Grandma's cushions”
Strawberry Thief, William Morris, designed 1883. Public domain. Shown on our example velveteen plush blanket.

“The river at night where we got engaged, stars over the water”
Starry Night Over the Rhône, Vincent van Gogh, 1888. Public domain. Shown on our example indoor wall tapestry.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.
Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, then shipped: 5–15 business days to Canada ($13.28 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($8.75 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by December 4 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Throw Pillow Case's own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other blankets and throws
- Of the 41 blankets and throws in the catalogue, 5 cost less and 35 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 15 business days, is the same as the family's median of 15; 3 other blankets and throws arrive sooner.

Before you order
How long does the Throw Pillow Case take to arrive?
To Canada, 5–15 business days, with first-item shipping at $13.28 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($8.75 CAD). It is printed to order in Miami, FL, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Throw Pillow Case?
Yes. Sublimation reproduces photographs in full colour with no texture. White areas print as the item's own colour, so a photo with a white background blends into it. The print file is 2100 × 2100 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
What sizes does the Throw Pillow Case come in?
6 sizes: 12" × 12", 12" × 18", 16" × 16", 18" × 18", 20" × 20", 24" × 24".
When should I order the Throw Pillow Case for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by December 4 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Throw Pillow Case?
It is sublimation-printed, and that sets the care. Wash cold, inside out. Tumble dry low. No bleach; the colour is in the fibre, so it will not crack.
