What it is for
A framed print arrives ready to hang, which is the difference between a gift and a project.
The frame covers a few millimetres at every edge; keep text away from the border.
Digital printing
Digital printing is high-resolution inkjet: pigment ink is laid onto paper, canvas, card or a label in fine dots.
It has the widest colour range of any method here, and the finest detail, which is why it is used for art prints.
The finish depends on the stock — matte, satin or gloss — not on the ink.
Designs that suit it
The same rules as a poster. Frames add an edge, so leave a little breathing room around the subject.
The print area is on the front: 3,000 × 2,398 pixels, about 10.0 × 8.0 in at 300 dpi — a roughly square area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, maps and fine type. Less suited: very large flat areas of a single dark colour on matte stock, which can show slight banding up close.
Sentences that would suit it
“A pale pink rose like an old botanical print, for Grandma”
China or Bengal Rose, from Les Roses, Pierre-Joseph Redouté, 1817–24. Public domain. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
“A hiker above the clouds, for my brother's first summit”
Wanderer above the Sea of Fog, Caspar David Friedrich, c. 1818. Public domain. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
“A family crest with our surname and the year we married”
Example design by Vessim. Shown on our example vertical framed poster.
Examples by Vessim: public-domain art and our own lettering, not studio output. The studio designs yours from your sentence.

Can I put a photo on the Framed Poster, Multi-Color?
Yes. Digital printing is the best method here for photographs: the widest colour range and the finest detail. The print file is 3000 × 2398 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
