What it is for
A keychain or tag is tiny, cheap to send, and carried every day.
Most tags are printed on one side; engraved ones carry a single tone.
Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing
Direct-to-garment printing works like an inkjet printer for fabric: water-based ink is sprayed into the fibres and cured with heat.
It prints full colour in one pass, so a photograph or a gradient costs the same as a single word. On dark fabric a white base layer goes down first so the colours stay true.
On light fabric the print is barely felt; over a white base on dark fabric it is slightly firmer, like a soft film.
Designs that suit it
A name, initials or a single bold shape. At this size, one element is plenty.
The print area is on the front: 902 × 620 pixels, about 3.0 × 2.1 in at 300 dpi — a wide, landscape area. The studio generates the design at that size, so it is printed from a full-resolution file rather than an enlarged preview.
Photographs, paintings, detailed illustration and small type all hold. Less suited: very fine hairlines and large solid blocks of colour on dark fabric, where the base layer is most noticeable.
Sentences that would suit it

“A red and blue repeating pattern for a tote”
Snakeshead, William Morris, designed 1876. Public domain. Shown on our example tough phone cases.

“Sea anemones like a vintage science plate, for the marine biologist”
Actiniae (Sea Anemones), from Art Forms in Nature, Ernst Haeckel, 1904. Public domain. Shown on our example tough phone cases.

“A dusky rose floral pattern for a reading chair”
Honeysuckle, William Morris, designed 1876. Public domain. Shown on our example tough phone cases.

Where it is printed, and when it arrives
It is printed to order in Monroe, NC, United States, then shipped: 10–30 business days to Canada ($13.41 CAD for the first item) and 2–5 business days to the US ($8.07 CAD). Each window counts from the day the order is placed and includes printing.
Printed in North America, so it ships without an overseas leg and no import duties apply within North America.
To arrive by Christmas 2026 with standard shipping, order by November 13 for Canada and December 18 for the US — that is the Polymer Luggage Tag's own longest window counted back from December 25.
How it compares with our other keychains and tags
- Of the 14 keychains and tags in the catalogue, 10 cost less and 3 cost more.
- Its longest delivery time to Canada, 30 business days, is longer than the family's median of 15; 13 other keychains and tags arrive sooner.
- 9 of the 14 are printed in North America, this one included.
Looking after it

Before you order
How long does the Polymer Luggage Tag take to arrive?
To Canada, 10–30 business days, with first-item shipping at $13.41 CAD; to the US, 2–5 business days ($8.07 CAD). It is printed to order in Monroe, NC, United States, and the window counts from the day you order, printing included.
Can I put a photo on the Polymer Luggage Tag?
Yes. DTG prints in full colour from the image file, so photographs and paintings reproduce well; they look best on high-cotton fabric. The print file is 902 × 620 pixels on the front, so a photo should be at least that size to print sharply.
When should I order the Polymer Luggage Tag for Christmas?
With standard shipping, by November 13 to Canada and December 18 to the US. Those dates count this product's longest delivery window back from December 25 in business days. Express shipping at checkout, where it is offered, shortens the window.
How do I look after the Polymer Luggage Tag?
It is DTG-printed, and that sets the care. Wash inside out in cold water. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not iron directly over the print. No bleach or fabric softener on the printed area.
